An AI lyrics generator for lyrics that sing, not just read

A lyric that reads well on a page can fall apart the moment someone sings it. Lines that are too long get rushed, verses that do not rhyme have no pull, and a chorus without a hook is forgotten by the second listen. Most text generators do not know any of this; they write text.

Writing lyrics in Midhull's Write it, with syllables counted for each section

Midhull's lyric writer is built for singing. It writes to a syllable target for each line, rhymes the verses, gives the chorus a hook, and then a voice sings what it wrote.

What singable lyrics need

ElementWhat good looks likeWhy it matters
Line lengthAbout the same count in each line of a sectionA melody repeats; uneven lines get crammed or stretched
RhymeVerses ABAB or AABBRhymes tell the ear where the line ends
HookA short line in the chorus that repeatsIt is what people remember and sing back
DetailOne concrete thing per verse: a place, a habit, a nameIt makes the song about someone, not anyone
LanguageWritten natively in the sung languageTranslated lines carry the wrong stress

How Midhull writes lyrics

When you describe a song, Midhull plans its sections first (verse, pre chorus, chorus, bridge, rap) and then writes for each one:

  • A syllable target per line. For English, verse lines aim for 6 to 12 syllables and chorus lines for 4 to 10. Japanese counts morae, Korean counts syllable blocks, Hindi counts aksharas.
  • Rhyming verses, ABAB or AABB, and a short, repeatable chorus with a clear hook.
  • Names and details used warmly and specifically, when the song is for someone.
  • No imitation. The writer never mentions, quotes or imitates a real artist, band or existing song.
  • A clean option with no explicit words.

Then you edit it

You are not stuck with the first draft:

  1. Tap any line to change it. Rewrite it yourself, or ask for a rewrite with an instruction ("make it about the train, not the bus"). The new line keeps the section's syllable target and rhyme.
  2. Lock the lines you love. Locked lines keep their words through every preview and edit.
  3. Re sing just that line in the studio, in the same voice.

If you prefer to write every word yourself, Write it shows each section's line and syllable count as you type, with the target range for the sung language.

Examples we wrote with these rules

Pop, a road trip. Target 6 to 12 per verse line, 4 to 10 per chorus line, AABB verse.

[Verse]
Windows down on the coast road, quarter to five (11)
Sand in the seats and the radio alive (11)
You've got the map but you're holding it wrong (10)
I've got the snacks and the one good song (9)

[Chorus]
Drive, don't stop (3)
Till the sun comes up (5)
Drive, don't stop (3)
We've got just enough (5)

The chorus lines sit at the short end on purpose: a hook is short. "Drive, don't stop" at 3 syllables is just under the range. Midhull only flags lines that are far outside it, so a deliberate short hook is your call.

Rap, a hometown verse. Rap lines run longer: 9 to 15 syllables.

[Rap]
Corner store lights where the bus never came on time (12)
Twenty minute walks, made a rhythm out of every line (14)
Mum on the late shift, so I learned to cook rice (11)
Now every beat I make is just paying back the price (13)

Prompts that give the writer something to work with

WeakStrong
"A love song""A love song about the first winter in our flat, the heater that never worked, slow soul"
"A birthday song for my brother""A birthday song for my brother Sam, 30, who still can't parallel park, pop punk"
"A sad song""A song about clearing out my grandad's shed, his radio still tuned to the cricket, folk"

One real detail is worth more than five adjectives.
