Suno alternatives in 2026: what changed, and which app fits what you make

Suno is still the biggest name in AI music, with the widest set of tools. People looking for an alternative usually have a specific reason, and most of those reasons date from September 2026. This page lays out what changed, with sources, and which apps answer which reason. We make Midhull and rank it first for people who make songs on their phone and want to keep them; the facts about every other app are linked at the bottom.

What changed at Suno in September 2026

DateChangeSource
3 Sept 2026Download caps: Pro 20 songs a month, Premier 60. The caps also apply to songs made before that date. Free users who joined before 3 September keep 7 lifetime trial downloads, which cannot be used commerciallySuno blog, terms update
3 Sept 2026New terms: commercial use only for output from a permitted download; remixes are non commercial on every tier; free tier output is personal and non commercialSuno terms
9 Sept 2026v6 family launched (v6, v6-wild, v6-mini); previous models retired; free users get v6-miniSuno blog, v6 announcement
OngoingExtra downloads sold separately in the iOS app ($2.99 or $4.99 for one, $8.95 for three)App Store listing

None of this makes Suno a bad product. Its v6 model is trained with licensed partners (Warner Music Group, BMG and Believe), and Studio 2.0 is a serious browser studio on Premier. But if you made hundreds of songs expecting to download them whenever you liked, the caps change the deal.

1. Midhull

A music studio for iPhone and Android, launching soon in six languages. For a Suno user, the differences that matter most:

  • Downloads are not taken back. MP3, WAV, chord MIDI and the lyric sheet, plus stems (drums, bass, keys, lead) from level 10. Songs you make stay downloadable even if you change plans. Which plans include stems and MIDI is confirmed with the plans at launch.
  • You fix the part, not the song. Redo one section, rewrite or re sing one line, extend, add a bridge, change key (up to 6 semitones) or tempo (40 to 220 BPM), swap the vocal or make it acoustic. Lock the lines you like. Line edits, extend and vocal changes are there from the start; key and tempo open at level 3 and section redo at level 5 as you make songs.
  • Your songs stay on their engine version. Each song keeps the engine version it was made with, so an edit next month matches the original.
  • You pay only for what you keep. Previews do not use your balance, and a kept song that comes out broken is returned to your balance automatically.
  • Nine ways in: describe, write, hum, sing, snap a photo, dedicate, tap a rhythm, remix or sample.
  • Made to share: songs open in a browser for people without the app, who can answer with a song; weekly challenges open every entry at once at Release Hour.

How it compares with Suno: Suno also runs on the web and has a desktop style studio with multitrack export on Premier; Midhull is phone first and puts its editing tools in the app. Suno's listing names ten vocal languages; Midhull sings in 37, each one tested. Midhull's first full song is free; plans and prices are published at launch.

Moving from Suno: bring your lyrics. Paste them into Write it with their section tags ([Verse], [Chorus]) and they are sung in the order you wrote them. Midhull starts songs from your words, your voice, your in app recordings and community songs, so audio files from other apps are not imported.

2. ElevenLabs Music

Built with licensed partners, with Music v2 (May 2026), section inpainting and up to 6 stems. The ElevenMusic iOS app costs $9.99 a month or $95.90 a year. Paid self serve plans allow commercial use except film, TV and games. We found no Android listing for the app. Best for creators who need cleared music.

3. Google Flow Music

Google's music studio (formerly ProducerAI) on the web and iOS. "Unlimited downloads" in MP3, WAV and M4A, plus stems and Veo music videos. Web Starter is $6 a month; iOS Starter is $7.99. We found no product specific ownership or commercial terms. Best for web first producers who want files.

4. Mureka

Low yearly pricing (from $7.17 a month), broad inputs including uploaded vocal audio, and up to 12 stems on Premier. Downloads require an active subscription and stop when you cancel. Best for volume on a budget.

5. Udio

Not an alternative if you need files: Udio's help center says downloading of audio, video and stems is disabled while it moves to a licensed platform. See Udio alternatives.
